WYERS WINS ANOTHER!

GOES BACK TO BACK AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

BRIDGEPORT, NJ - July 31, 2010 - John Wyers of Marmora, NJ scored his second straight win of 2010 with the Tri-State RaceSaver Series and also a starting spot in the A-Main in the RaceSaver Nationals at the Fork Mountain Raceway in Bassett, VA. Wyers passed race long leader Jeff Geiges with three laps to go to seal the deal and put his #84 in Victory Lane.

First State invader Jeff Fithian would lead the field to the green but TSRS Points Leader Jeff Geiges would jump out to the early lead. Geiges would pull away from the field by a full straightaway at one point and appeared to be on his way to his second win of the season at the big 5/8 mile speed plant. The race would be clean and green until lap 12 when pole sitter Jeff Fithian would lose a wheel and get upside down in turns three and four. Fithian would be transported to a local hospital for observation. On the ensuing restart Wyers who climbed from his 9th starting spot picked the leaders off one by one on the outside finally passing race long leader Jeff Geiges with three laps to go. Wyers would go on to win his second win of the season with the newly formed group and by doing so guaranteed himself a starting spot in the A-Main at the RaceSaver Nationals at the Fork Mountain Raceway in Bassett, VA. Geiges would hold on to finish second while Bruce Kindberg, Stefanie Palmai, and Mike McManus rounded out the top five. Heat Races went to Chuck Palmucci and Mark Sasso.
